Corner Lot Beachfront "fixer" the top sale of the month
1900 The Strand, Manhattan Beach - Sold at $15,573,900
In another big month for beachfront Strand homes, August saw three beachfront homes close escrow. The top sale of the month for both the beachfront homes and all of Manhattan was a home that was all about location.
The home itself was a challenge in our eyes (2 bedrooms in 3,600 square feet??) but the location was premium. It really doesn’t get much better than a south facing corner lot home on a walkstreet. The corner lot means not only unblockable views from the west but the south side as well. Big views equal big money. Basically $15.5M+ for a tear down.
As mentioned above the home was very unusual with almost 3700 square feet and only 2 bedrooms. There’s no doubt this was custom built in 1980 and the owners had a unique vision that probably doesn’t translate to the current buyers.
