The highest price home sale of August in Manhattan Beach was also very welcome news for the neighbors.  The home had sat unfinished (and barely started) for years. It just closed escrow at $14,500,000. The home had stared a down to the studs remodel years and years ago and then abruptly stopped.  It sat as a rotting hulk for just about as long as we can remember. It long looked like the worlds most expensive chicken coop. The project had finally started back up and at least had exterior work completed so it wasn’t quite the eyesore it had been for so many years, but now it’s somebody elses project to complete or tear down. The home/lot offered an incredible location sitting on a south facing 3500 foot corner lot that had the beach to the west and a walkstreet to the south making for the possibility of HUGE views in 2 directions instead of the usual situation with views only to the west.
