While this home may not have been on the Manhattan Beach Strand, it’s definitely one worth mentioning.

One of the most recent luxury homes to close escrow in the Manhattan Beach sand section was a beautiful ocean view single family in an ideal location just steps to the beach and blocks to downtown.   Both the home and the location were impressive.  The Santa Barbara inspired design offered big views from 3 levels.  The reverse floorplan offered a spacious and bright top level with ocean view deck, kitchen, dining living and more.  The home featured a 3 stop elevator to access all levels and all 5 bedrooms.  The home hit the market at $8,200,000 and sold for $8,000,000.  The home had only been on the market a brief 12 days before going into escrow.

New to the already crowded beachfront home market is 3004 The Strand in Manhattan Beach.   Priced at $9,495,000 this is going to be an interesting home to keep an eye on as it’s not priced at lot value (and it’s quite large) but it’s definitely not the typical home that today’s beachfront buyers are looking for.    On a personal curiosity note, we were excited to see this home as it’s always intrigued with it’s very unique look.  Turns out it’s just as interesting inside as outside with a distinct 60s and 70’s beach pad vibe.  

While it’s an older home it’s not priced at lot value and given the square footage this one might be a bit tough. It’s a 4 bedroom, 4 bath, with 3,348 sqft on a 3,489 sqft lot. Given that the last beachfront lot value/tear down sale was at $8.25M this one is one of those “tweener” homes (not clearly a tear down and not the modern home Strand buyers are generally wanting) so it will be one to keep a close eye on.
